This week, we sat down with composer, teacher, and author David Sisco and director, audition coach, and teacher Laura Josepher to talk all things audition!

We all know that auditions are a daunting process and college musical theatre auditions are no exception. David and Laura have many years in the audition room and their experiences inspired them to write their book, Mastering College Musical Theatre Auditions: Sound Advice for the Student, Teacher, and Parent.

David and Laura both expressed the importance of preparing early for your audition, so that you can give your best performance in the room. And their top, top tip?! Be present!

Yes, that’s right. Don’t tell the audition panel what you think they want to hear, instead engage with them naturally and authentically so that your true personality and natural talent shines through.
