About The Palos Village Players

The Palos Village Players was begun in peoples homes . Zay Smith and his wife LeMay founded the group during the war for social and entertainment in the area to save on gas which was rationed at the time. They began by reading scripts to each other and produced the first play on the stage of the Palos Park Village Hall in 1942. Zay Smith was the mentor and promoter of the PVP for 25 years. He was an architect in the area and also the founder of P O W S ( a community activist group for Palos, Orland, Worth and Surrounding area) and the Fortnightly Dancing group. This group was for young people in the area to learn Ballroom Dancing and manners of formal dates etc.

On the links you can see the lists of the many plays we have produced through these years.
