Biography
Douglas Lyons
Douglas Lyons is a composer, lyricist, and actor. Trained at the Hartt School’s BFA Musical Theatre program, Lyons took a hiatus from school to do a national tour of RENT. After graduation, Lyons went on to perform on Broadway and in national tours of shows including The Book of Mormon, Dreamgirls, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. As a composer and lyricist, Lyons makes up half the team of Lyons Pakchar. Their work has been featured at Lincoln Centre’s Songbook Series, Goodspeed, and Theatre Latte Da. Lyons is best known for his work on Polkadots: the Cool Kids Musical, which is inspired by Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock 9.
