Tony Award-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me Kate) hosts a new live streaming talk show, chatting to fellow artists who have successfully crossed over from stage to film, television or music. With a host of star guests and lots of cheeky, thought-provoking, and wildly entertaining discussions, Crossovers Live! is a series you don’t want to miss!

Mitchell’s career has crossed from stage to film to television, making him the perfect host for this new show! He told the Associated Press that he wanted to make “a show that really lights people up and makes people go, ‘Yes! Look what we can do! Look what we human beings are capable of and I’m going to go out and do that same thing”. Mitchell is also chairman of The Actor’s Fund, and this series is therefore very close to his heart as a minimum of 10% of the proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.

The first six-part season of Crossovers Live! includes conversations with Bernadette Peters (Mack & Mabel, Sunday in the Park With George, Annie Get Your Gun), Kristin Chenoweth (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Wicked, Promises, Promises), and David Hyde-Pierce (Spamalot, Hello, Dolly!, Curtains). With such huge stars of stage and screen, there are bound to be some fascinating stories to tell!

Crossovers: Live! will be available on Stellar, a new pay live-event platform created by Goldstar.

In Episode 1, Mitchell chatted with actress Vanessa Williams about her hugely successful career, from her time as Miss America, to being a No. 1 charting recording artist and starring on Broadway, television, and film. Williams trained for a stage career and she admits that to move to television and adapt, “Technique-wise, I trained on my feet”. She also talks about her involvement with Black Theatre United, a group of actors, directors, musicians, writers, technicians, producers and stage management using their visibility and influence for good in theatre and on the national stage.

“We are in the process of doing some incredible things with commercial theatre and regional theatre, and making people aware of the inequities in theatre, and the inclusion that has to be a part of not only theatre, but the world.”

Later, she was joined by multidisciplinary performer, Daniel J. Watts. Watts is nominated at this September’s Tony Awards for his portrayal of Ike Turner in the hit Broadway musical Tina and has previously been seen in Hamilton, Memphis, and After Midnight. Like Williams, he has transitioned from stage to screen, appearing in shows such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Last OG, Blindspot, and Vinyl.
